Squee - London Devmeet

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 17, 2009, 4:33 PM
The AWESOME

:iconhq:

As part of the world tour, Kensington Gardens played host to the biggest DevMeet ever.
And it was AWESOME.

The coach journey up was a bit cramped, and we tried really hard not to get lost. (we almost did on the way back, but thats besides the point) Having arrived waaay too early, my sister ~Popblush and I entertained ourselves by revisiting Buckingham Palace, Harrods (it was closed!) and The Science Museum, where we joined in watching a young childrens show about explosions and Barbie cannons. (Somebody get me some flash cotton!)

When we got to Kensington Gardens, it was instantly obvious who the Deviants were. Besides already being the largest group in the area long before the set meeting time, the Deviantart shirts, abundance of sketchpads and cameras made it undeniable.

That and the Caramelldansen that kept sporadically popping up.

Long ramble short, we met $pachunka, who was really cool, and also started off being the guy "in charge" of the digital art group.

From there we met some other fellow deviants, all of which were really friendly and incredibly talented. *o*

...I think thats everyone? Sorry if I've forgotten!
It was great meeting you all! I hope we will meet again in the future, because I had a lot of fun, and the experience of meeting other deviants is not only inspiring but very, very cool. Thanks for being so kind.

Edit:

So much more info keeps accumulating everywhere!
~JoshuaArtwork has posted up in his journal a number of photos from the DevMeet.

=Maivale wrote a heap of text about the people she met and what went on that day!

Since the Meet, *britain found me, and many other people from the day, and told us how it is a club/group purely for Meets in the UK! Go visit it too!

Also, while we were getting ready for the group photo, someone took a picture of my sister! She didn't mind, but she forgot to get that deviants name! So if you know who you are, or know who took a picture of her, please let me know. XD

(graciously cropped from one of ~JoshuaArtwork's photos.)

Here are some more photos of the Meet! Not taken by me XP

This journal got recommended by #hq!
While I try and stop myself from squealing, out of the hundreds of journals that I'm positive were written, mine got added to a short list. @w@
There are many other journals out there that have greater detail on and about the goings on of the World Tour London DevMeet. Go and read those too!

The Other

I'm about a third of the way through making a flash dressup of the mascot character for my friends at Westcountry Anime, but I've hit a rut. Anybody have any anime outfits they really like for a green haired girl?

Also, I fail at updating my site and blog. This is on the to-do list.

Fun Stuff

Check out *MangaWorkshop and DAcademy.
They're worth the time, and being run by some really great people too.

I didn't know anybody when I arrived. I was trying to spot people on the train down from Liverpool, and on the tube.
